Design, Build & modify fixtures and jigs with minimum supervision to achieve maximum production levels To use MIG welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies as required, meeting defined production schedules. Must ensure that the jigs & fixtures will achieve an output of parts within tolerance and as per the drawings or sample provided The jig or fixture must be movable to another station to allow for parts to be placed in for another welder to tack Working hands-on with other welders and engineering to best suit jigs for production. Make first of samples and Lay-out of parts for approval according to the drawings & instructions Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery, frames, bridge parts, Operating other necessary equipment and performing tasks necessary to complete parts to specifications. Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements i.e. continual improvements Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required. Participate in and attend production meetings as required. Read and interpret drawings Perform other duties as requested by the department manager. Reaching Human Resource objectives by orienting, assigning, training and coaching employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures. Achieves production planning operational objectives by contributing production planning information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change. Offers production planning recommendations to strategic improve production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; Completes welding audits with CWB -determining system improvements & implements change. Meets production financial standards by monitoring costs; implementing corrective actions. Completes production requirements by expediting work results; monitoring progress; resolving problems. Improves workflow by eliminating stoppages; analyzing delays; trying new methods. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Experience and Knowledge Have worked their way from welder-to-welder fitter to fitter fabricator – to lead hand This position is not for someone who has only been a ‘manager’ A Min of 10-15 years of experience in this industry. Experience in steel fabricating, building, and assembling mechanical components. Understand weld symbols on the drawing to ensure that the parts that have been fit can achieve the desired weld on the drawings. Mechanical knowledge and understanding of assembly processes Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting schematics Experience with power tools and welding equipment Must be able to operate, adjust welding machines, gas gauges and wire feeders Utilize power tools to cut, shape, and smooth materials Perform basic mathematical calculations for measurements Operate a crane for lifting heavy materials Ability to rig components safely CWB certification for GMAW FCAW and assets • Location Concord Pay Range 30 - 40 per hour Date Posted 2025-09-11 Tell A Friend
