Job Description:We are currently seeking an experienced Fitter to join our team. The Fitter will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structural components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of shipbuilding principles, be proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings, and possess excellent welding and metalworking skills.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, layout, fit, finish, and repair complex fabrications according to work packages and product specifications.Work under the guidance of the shop superintendent to adhere to production schedules.Perform fit test evaluations, including cutting, beveling, and fitting tasks.Ensure the finished product meets pass/fail acceptability standards.Bring personal tools such as a tape measure, square, center punch, hammer, striker, and grinder.
Essential Skills:
Proven experience in fitting or a similar metalworking roleProficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.Familiarity with fitting materials, tools, and equipment.Attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.Vocational training or certification in metalworking, layout, install, fitting.Previous experience in marine construction or repair.Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

Work Environment:
Work in a large, loud manufacturing environment with 1st and 2nd shift openings. Shifts include four 10-hour days with mandatory overtime on Fridays until work is caught up. Enjoy a 10% differential for working the 2nd shift. The work involves a physically demanding environment.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position based out of Eddystone, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
