Job Description
The Midway YMCA in St Paul is seeking a Fitness Onboarding Coordinator to welcome and guide members and guests through their fitness journey by ensuring proper equipment use, conducting assessments, and delivering exceptional service. This role creates a safe, engaging, and wellness-focused environment by answering questions, building meaningful connections, and upholding YMCA policies and values.
The salary for this position starts at $16.37 hourly. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.
1. Job Summary:
The Fitness Onboarding Coordinator is responsible for onboarding members and guests ensuring accurate use of fitness equipment and conducting fitness assessments. The incumbent will provide excellent customer service answering questions and assisting members and guests creating a safe, enjoyable, and positive atmosphere that promotes wellness in accordance with the YMCA values, policies and procedures.
2. Essential Functions:
+ Onboard members and guests on fitness equipment ensuring proper use and conducting fitness assessments.
+ Answer questions related to the use of fitness equipment.
+ Create a high level experience for members and guests through excellent customer service, engagement and building a connection.
+ Encourage members to participate in health and fitness programs.
+ Understand and enforce all applicable YMCA policies.
3. Relationships:
This position reports to the Wellbeing Director. The incumbent works with the members, branch management team, and other Association staff.
4. Qualifications:
Required:
+ Education and/or experience related to fitness, exercise physiology, or health and wellness
+ Excellent customer service, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
+ Must be self-directed and motivated
+ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
+ Demonstrated ability to work cross culturally
Preferred:
+ Multilingual
5. Physical Demands:
Ability to travel locally to visit branch sites, attend meetings and training with a flexible work schedule which may include evenings and weekends.
