Job Description

We are seeking a skilled finishing carpenter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing doors and hardware, including lever sets, weather strips, door closures, panic doors, and door stops. You must be able to read and follow step-by-step instructions to complete installations accurately.

Responsibilities

Install doors and related hardware such as lever sets, weather strips, door closures, and panic doors.Wire up panic doors and install door stops.Read and execute installation instructions accurately.Use and maintain various hand tools and power tools efficiently.Demonstrate problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Navigate and use iPads for work-related tasks.

Essential Skills

Proficient with hand tools and power tools.Experience in construction or as a carpenter.Ability to read and follow blueprints and installation instructions.Good communication skills.2+ years of experience as a carpenter or in a specialty sub-trade.Ability to safely operate various power tools, including MIG welders, saws, and other equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Possession of basic tools such as cordless drills and driver bits.First aid certification is a plus.Welding experience is an advantage.Must wear PPE at all times including a hard hat, 6-inch steel toes, high-visibility clothing, gloves, clear glasses, and a hard hat lanyard.

Work Environment

The work schedule is likely Monday to Friday initially, with potential for overtime as the project progresses. The job site is conveniently located near a SkyTrain station, although parking is not available in the area. Be prepared to travel between sites in Burnaby, Surrey, Aldergrove, and Vancouver for learning and project needs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
