Job Summary: In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the financial health of Cayuga Health System. The Financial Operations Analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial data, streamlining processes, and contributing to the overall success of our health system by providing detail-oriented reports and analytics that will drive performance improvements across business units.\n

Location: Ithaca\n

Job Responsibilities include:\n\nConducting comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement and growth.\n\n\nPreparing detailed financial reports and presenting findings to key stakeholders.\n\n\nUtilizing financial systems to create and maintain accurate records.\n\n\nDeveloping and implementing financial policies and procedures.\n\n\nMonitoring budget performance, providing insights into budgetary discrepancies.\n\n\nAssists with development and maintenance of the hospital's cost accounting system.\n\n\nParticipates with consultants on organizational initiatives.\n\n\nCollaborating with other departments to ensure the accuracy of financial information.\n\n\nMaintaining knowledge of current industry trends and regulations.\n\n\nDeveloping innovative strategies to improve operational efficiency.\n\n\nStaying up to date with financial technologies and software.\n\n

Qualifications\n\nYou should be a highly organized individual with excellent problem-solving skills and an aptitude for numbers. KPIs, OKRs, NPR, and SQL are acronyms you're familiar with and not phased by.\n\n\nYou should be adept at using financial systems, have strong attention to detail, and be able to interpret financial data with precision.\n\n\nYou are a self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively.\n\n\nYou are a creative thinker with excellent communication and organizational skills.\n\n\nYou have the ability to multitask and prioritize work in order to meet internal deadlines.\n\n

Bonus Qualifications\n\nFinancial modeling skills: Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making.\n\n\nAnalyze scenarios and provide insights into the financial impact of various initiatives.\n\n\nAdvanced Data Analytics: Experience in advanced data analytics tools and techniques.\n\n\nHealthcare Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare systems, processes, and terminology.\n\n\nThrive in a fast-moving department within a larger organization, adapting quickly to changes and challenges.\n\n\nChampion creative solutions and welcome out-of-the-box thinking to drive continuous improvement.\n\n\nFocus on achieving tangible results on time, even in organizational complexities.\n\n\nDrive a results-oriented culture within the department, setting and exceeding ambitious goals.\n\n\nCommunicate effectively in a manner that transcends organizational silos, ensuring clear and concise messaging.\n\n

Requirements:\n

Education - Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field\n

Experience - Three years of experience in financial operations, analysis and\/or budgeting\n

Licensure - none required.\n

Physical Requirements - must remain stationary 50% or more of the time. Must be able to exchange accurate information. May occasionally need to move light objects up to 20 pounds.\n
