As a member of our Financial Control function, you will spend each day overseeing the firm’s books and records, managing general ledger and operating system controls, and coordinating key activities such as balance sheet reconciliation, substantiation, GLRS reporting and governance, inter-entity controls, manual accounting, and the month-end close process.

Job responsibilities 

Ensure the accuracy and validity of line of business general ledger accounts, including adherence to the firmwide General Ledger Reconciliation & Substantiation (GLRS) standardsEnsure adherence to P&L and Balance Sheet controls owned by Financial Control, including identifying and implementing opportunities for efficiencyAnalyze, communicate, and resolve material variances between the general ledger and upstream systems, as defined by line of business

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting3+ years of related experienceStrong understanding of securities and derivatives productsGeneral Ledger experienceExperience with financial reporting and month end close responsibilitiesComfortable liaising with business and risk managersAble to build and maintain partnerships within the various product aligned businesses and across other corporate financial, treasury, and accounting groupsAble to understand business drivers and requirements and influence middle and front office partners to deliver solutions to business issues and problemsStrong analytical skills: Ability to quickly understand workings of a complex processing system and general ledger systems across the infrastructure and their interrelationships and dependenciesExcellent desktop/spreadsheet/database skills
