Financial Analyst Supervisor
Job Title: Financial Analyst SupervisorJob Description

The Financial Analyst Supervisor is responsible for supporting the agency's needs by controlling and managing all grant programs to ensure compliance with funder policies. This role involves supervising Financial Analysts and collaborating with program managers to analyze and report financial activities within grants. The position also ensures timely submission of financial reports to funders.

ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate the workflow of Financial Analysts.Monitor expenses in each grant for appropriate classifications.Ensure timely and accurate reporting to funders in collaboration with Financial Analysts and Program Managers.Coordinate with Financial Analysts, Program Managers, and VPs on monitoring visits with funders.Collaborate with the Accounting/Payroll Manager on the monthly financial closing process.Work with the Budget and Controls Manager on budget creations and adjustments.Report any financial deviations from funder-approved budgets to the Budget and Controls Manager and CFO.Monitor and prepare variance reports.Ensure all funder reports are submitted by the due date.Manage and revise cost allocation tables as necessary during the monthly financial closing process.Review and verify the accuracy of financial data in program balance sheets and income statements.Assist with monthly and annual closing processes.Participate in annual audits and fund closings.Review journal entries prepared by Financial Analysts and prepare journal entries as needed.Maintain departmental policies and procedures.Assist the CFO as needed.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration (or equivalent nonprofit account managerial experience).Minimum of five years of related experience, including two years in a supervisory role.Knowledge of Federal and State laws governing funding.Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, with advanced skills in MS Excel and MS Word.Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong customer service and organizational skills.Ability to calculate and apply mathematical concepts.Demonstrated ability to multitask and be proactive.Effective staff supervision skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with Blackbaud and Financial Edge preferred.Leadership experience overseeing Financial Analysts.Hands-on experience in budgeting and financial reporting.Ability to break down complex financial information for program managers.Work Environment

This position operates in a standard cubicle environment, working 35 hours a week from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. The role is onsite every day.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hartford, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.75 - $27.83/hr.
