Financial Analyst - Credit Risk

POSITION SUMMARY:

Objectives include applying the company's procedures and credit policies to allow for profitable sales while protecting the company's significant investment in accounts receivable. Assists the MPLX Credit Risk Director in performing tasks and providing essential information relating to current credit exposures and customer risk. Establishes and promotes open communication between the trading and operational process owners, counterparties, and the Credit Department. Performs independently and works with other operational areas and analysts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform financial analysis and collection tasks on assigned counterparty portfolio.Prepare and track credit and collection data with a high level of accuracy and accountability.Assist other analysts and Credit Director in managing guarantees, prepays, deposits, and other credit instruments and contracts.Collaborate with collectors, analysts, Marketing and other relevant departments to effectively share and obtain credit information.Assist in system testing, data entry, and data integrity efforts.Identifies areas for process improvement within the role, proposing changes to improve efficiency and accuracy.Aggregates data from various internal and external sources for routine reporting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related discipline is required.Zero (0) to Three (3) years in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.Advanced computer skills including use of Microsoft Excel is preferredAnalytical skills using spreadsheets and ability to represent data visually are required.Familiarity with RightAngle, SAP, Bloomberg, and/or Salesforce highly desirable.

SKILLS:

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong abilities to clearly convey thinking and distill information into summary form are required.Individual clearly demonstrates a high level of self-motivation, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize time and tasks. Individual has strong independent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
