The University of Miami has a great opportunity for a Financial Analyst to work at the Coral Gables Campus.


The Financial Analyst 1 - School/College/Hospital compiles and analyzes financial information for the assigned school/college/hospital in an efficient and accurate manner. Moreover, the incumbent assists management in the decision-making process and strategic planning by presenting relevant financial reports in a clear, concise, and timely manner.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Prepares and coordinates documentation of financial analysis projects such as budgets, forecasts, projections, expense performance, and presentations.
2. Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings.
3. Provides analytical support for forward-looking financial or business-related projects.
4. Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of accounts.
5. Designs and builds various models that summarize several different scenarios around growth and expansion initiatives or opportunities.
6. Develops and maintains performance and productivity dashboards, models or analyses.
7. Collects, interprets and analyzes relevant data or metrics.
8. May develop and maintain reports to support plans, business decisions, operational changes, strategic plans and new services.
9. Resolves any reporting issues.
10. Helps process purchase requisitions, journals, expense reports, purchase card reconciliations, payroll, and other transactions in the University’s financial system (Workday).
11. Makes recommendations to align policies and procedures with best practices and capitalize on financial opportunities.
12. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required

Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

Certification and Licensing:
Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements

Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.

Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
