Job Description
Overview:
Brookfield Residential is seeking a Financial Analyst to conduct financial analysis and reporting for its portfolio of real estate development projects, primarily in Texas. This role is responsible for evaluating project asset performance by building and maintaining detailed financial cashflow models, conducting scenario and variance analyses, and preparing investment performance summaries.
The Financial Analyst helps shape internal business plans for each asset and supports the preparation & communication of key performance insights to capital partners and internal stakeholders. This position works closely with accounting for actual performance as well as operations & marketing for projected performance.
Key Deliverables:
+ Responsible for the analysis and preparation of the annual business plan as well as quarterly forecasts submitted to the executive leadership team.
+ Compiling the annual comprehensive business plan preparation and review.
+ Developing & maintaining quarterly life of project (LOP) projections for each assigned asset.
+ Projecting operating cash flow and capital forecasting.
+ Review and analysis of sales, closings and other KPIs impacting the business and recommending action.
+ Take part in operational meetings and discussions regarding the assets.
+ Ad-hoc analysis for internal and external users/partners.
+ Enhance financial tools, systems and processes via Excel automation and procedural improvements.
+ Leverage Vena financial reporting software for cashflow budgeting and forecasting.
+ Assist accounting team with ad-hoc accounting needs.
What You'll Bring:
+ Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required
+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
+ Strong analytical, organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines
+ Strong understanding of GAAP financial statements and standards
+ Understanding of relationships between key financial metrics: IRR, NPV, margin, and multiple
+ Strong interpersonal communication skills
+ Experience with financial reporting software or planning tools (e.g. Vena) a plus
+ 0-3 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within real estate or development
