Establishes policies and procedures for each job function and ensures that each function is cross trained. Responsible for ensuring a timely month-end close. Works closely with the Finance Manager in developing and publishing monthly forecasts, the annual business plan, and supporting business strategy. Publishes and explains data required for external and internal audits. Maintains and monitors cost and manufacturing accounting processes and operations analysis for the Hurst Jaws of Life location, as well as inter-departmental projects as required to support business decisions and profitability. Position requires knowledge of U.S. GAAP and manufacturing/financial reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley, and business operations in a growth-oriented environment. **REPORTING TO** **:** Reports directly to the Finance Manager. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** + Variance analysis as requested/required. + Responsible for ensuring that all monthly journal entries are completed. + Closes general ledger each month and ensures required reports are generated + Assists Finance Manager in preparing the monthly Corporate financial statements package (OneStream/Consolidated submissions) and Monthly Business Review file. + Assists in the development and necessary reporting for the monthly forecast and annual business plans. + Prepare appropriate tax forms and reports as required (sales and use tax). + Completes and reviews assigned Balance Sheet account reconciliations monthly. + Assist with both internal and external audit reviews. + Supports Cost Accounting functions + Responsible for timely submission of SOX testing and submission to Internal Audit. + Proposes improvements in operations and working capital. + Partners with Operations staff to support inventory reduction objectives, make vs. buy, and capex decisions. + Responsible to become knowledgeable of IDEX policies and facilitate adherence to said policies within the organization. + Other duties as assigned. **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES** + Bachelor Degree in Accounting and/or Finance from an accredited educational institution. + Demonstrate ability to analyze and interpret financial data and operating problems in order to make recommendation to management + Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting/cost experience in a manufacturing environment or public accounting experience preferred. + Superior verbal and written communication skills to work effectively within and outside of the accounting department. + Consistently operates at the highest level of integrity and is never willing to compromise with regards to ethical standards. + Experience in a process focused organization (Six Sigma, Value Streams) and experience working with JDE or ERP Systems is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (advanced in Excel). **KEY COMPETENCIES** Success in this position requires the ability to balance obligations within the accounting department while building a strong partnership with the staff throughout the organization.
