Job Description
The Financial Analyst supports the organization’s financial health through comprehensive analysis, reporting, and cross department collaboration. This role manages key financial activities, including accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, forecasting, general ledger review, grants, and payroll oversight. The analyst ensures compliance with GAAP, GASB, IRS regulations, and all relevant state and federal financial standards. Responsibilities include preparing accurate financial statements, regulatory filings, and monthly/annual close documentation. The role strengthens internal controls, supports audit readiness, and serves as a liaison during annual audits. The Financial Analyst provides clear financial reports, conducts modeling and risk assessments, and contributes to long range planning.
The position collaborates closely with executive leadership and operational teams, offering financial insights that guide policy, budgeting, and strategic decisions. The analyst also engages with community stakeholders and external partners to promote transparency, professionalism, and trust in the organization’s financial stewardship. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a closely related field
- 4+ years’ experience as a financial analyst
o Knowledge of:
Public-sector accounting principles, including GAAP and GASB standards
Cost accounting, fixed-asset accounting, internal controls, and audit practices.
Federal, state, and local laws governing public-agency finance.
- Experience in a public transit agency or governmental setting.
- Proven capacity to thrive in a high pressure, rapidly changing setting with little direction or oversight Compensation:
$35/hr to $45/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
