Job Description

The role of the Financial Analyst is crucial in compiling monthly financial reports, managing revenue recognition, and supporting the development of financial plans and forecasts. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial processes and collaborating with management to ensure accurate financial reporting and planning.

ResponsibilitiesCompile the monthly reporting package and present it to General Management following the accounting department's financial close.Oversee and adjust revenue recognition for the group, addressing discrepancies during the month-end close process.Review flash reports summarizing the previous week's recognized revenue to streamline the month-end close process with weekly reviews.Create and modify project setups as required on a daily basis.Participate in project setup meetings to determine the configuration of new contracts within Costpoint.Collaborate with finance leadership to develop the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and quarterly forecasts.Monitor actual results against the AOP and forecast, investigate significant variances, and provide explanations to management.Train group employees on integrated financial software and serve as the point of contact for financial inquiries.Calculate contract de-obligation for submission to Project Managers and the contracts department.Prepare and distribute weekly progress status reports to Project Managers.Track revenue, negative fees, indirect labor, unpaid invoices, and unallowable costs on a weekly basis.Prepare Quarterly Estimated Actual Costs reports.Review, approve, and assist in preparing customer invoices.Prepare and input transfers to correct erroneous charges.Review and approve employee expense and timesheet submissions.Maintain and update contract workforces, including WD contracts.Prepare rosters with employee information for quotes.Manage Unanet manager and project approver groups, updating and correcting employee passwords and timesheets as needed.Customize Business Intelligence reports upon request.Review contracts and modifications for financial accuracy.Review and approve Accounts Payable CostPoint voucher edit reports to prevent coding errors.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 1-2+ years of accounting/finance experience.Experience with cost accounting, journal entries, debits/credits, and reconciliations.Strong attention to detail and good email management/organization skills.Proficiency in MS Excel, including the ability to create pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.Ability to obtain a secret clearance.Experience with Costpoint and ship repair govcon.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in government contracting accounting/finance.Understanding of cost pools and how to assign costs to a job.Active secret clearance.Work Environment
