This role centers on responding to inquiries related to reports and producing ad hoc reports for designated departments, with a focus on Head and Neck Oncology, GI Oncology, Reconstructive Oncology, and Breast Cancer. The Financial Analyst supports the provider side of operations by delivering analytical insights and business consulting services to various clinical areas, including ambulatory clinics, hospital ancillary services, and inpatient nursing units. The position involves close collaboration with both administrative and clinical teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, aiming to reduce costs and enhance revenue—while ensuring compliance with payer requirements and regulatory standards.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and maintain institutional performance dashboards to track actual results against financial, operational, and resource management goals.Respond to complex reporting requests from leadership, applying analytical thinking and consultative skills.Serve as a systems analyst to create new reports, dashboards, and analyses in response to evolving data needs.Conduct monthly data quality reviews to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.Develop financial models to support recruitment decisions for providers and clinical staff.Generate custom reports and analyses upon request from department administrators and nursing leadership.Train end users on reporting tools and collaborate with IT teams to support dashboard development.Calculate and report productivity metrics for nursing and physician teams.Analyze financial and productivity reports, offering actionable recommendations for improvement.Produce detailed monthly and annual ad hoc reports based on organizational needs.Provide data analysis, variance explanations, and consulting support for budgeting, forecasting, and monthly DTOPS reporting.Assist with financial forecasting related to provider volumes and nursing resource allocation.Partner with staff to identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.Prepare financial models to evaluate new clinical services and expansion initiatives.Support new program and business development through financial assessments.Contribute to strategic initiatives by modeling financial impacts and delivering performance reports.Essential SkillsSeven years of experience in financial analysis, healthcare finance, or business administration with a CPA, or ten years of experience with a Master’s degree in a related field.Proven expertise in financial reporting, supported by a strong analytical approach.Highly organized with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures.Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.Excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.Adaptable and able to respond effectively to changing priorities and environments.Additional Skills & QualificationsSkilled in planning, budgeting, productivity analysis, and forecasting systems.Extensive experience conducting financial analysis within healthcare environments.Proficient in building complex financial models incorporating multiple variables and assumptions.Strong independent thinking with the ability to support interpretations and recommendations.Demonstrated in-depth understanding of the operations and needs of supported departments.Effective presenter with the ability to establish credibility across all levels of the organization.Work Environment
