Finance Specialist
_Reporting directly to_ **_Asia Finance Shared Service, Team Leader_** _, the Financial Senior Specialist is primarily accountable for general accounting and reporting through timely and accurate service delivery._ _Responsibilities include the following:_ **General Accountability:** Financial Analyst is primarily accountable for the accounting and analysis of finance activities to support Asia Finance Controllers SSC. The role is also responsible for the preparation of Finance processes such as but not limited to Journal Entry preparation, reconciliation and preparation of management reports being used by Business Units within Asia. **Roles and Responsibilities:** **Accounting and Reporting** The job holder works closely with the business units to ensure smooth flow in the daily, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting cycle of the Asia Finance Controllers team, including but not limited to, preparation of journal entries, accounting and reporting work for inter-company, interdivisional and overhead expense allocation accounts and monitoring of suspense accounts, management and financial reporting, daily status reports, account reconciliations. **Reconciliation** The job holder performs reconciliation such as Bank Reconciliation, Intercompany Reconciliation and System reconciliation to ensure completeness and correctness of financial information for the month. **Reviewer** The job holder is responsible to perform peer-to-peer review and ensure accurate submission of output to the Business Unit. **Automation Champion** The job holder is responsible in proposing automation initiatives on processes handled by his/her assigned Business unit with the goal of improving accuracy and contributing to overall cost efficiency of the team. **Accounting and Reporting** The job holder will be allocated with processes not limited to: + finance operations transactional in nature but has financial impact (e.g. Invoicing, Credit Card Refund, Daily Matching of Premium) + **Accounting Operations** – responsible in preparing, uploading of Journal Entry to facilitate month-end closing activities. Reconciliation of accounts and balance sheet items for regulatory requirements + **Management Reporting** – to support needs of different internal or external parties. **Required Qualifications:** + Must have a degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA is preferred. + 4 - 7 years of working experience with progressive responsibility within the general accounting and management reporting field, at least 3 of which internally with an international organization or Shared Service Center. + Proficient in Microsoft Excel, MS Access, Business Objects applications, Lawson, Hyperion Essbase. + Experience in process migration is a plus. + Has strong attention to details and can work independently. + Good command of written and oral English. + Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation) and must be willing to work on a day shift schedule. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Extensive experience in account analysis and reconciliation + Proficiency in MS Office specifically in MS Excel + Strong interpersonal and English (written and verbal) communication skills + Ability to work independently, self-motivated, resourceful, and a team-player **When you join our team:** • We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want. • We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words. • As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see. **Acerca de Manulife y John Hancock** Manulife Financial Corporation es un importante proveedor internacional de servicios financieros que ayuda a las personas a tomar decisiones de una manera más fácil y a vivir mejor.
