Your role

The Finance Manager will lead the finance function responsible for two units of Gate Gourmet in the Netherlands and thereby will work closely with the Managing Director and Regional Finance team/CFO in Europe and act as the finance business partner within the local leadership team. On top of that, you will also be responsible for the service center in Belgrade, Serbia. This role ensures robust financial control, supports operational and commercial decision-making, drives cost efficiency, and maintains full compliance with IFRS and local financial and tax regulations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead, motivate, and develop the finance teams in the Netherlands and Serbia

Drive financial performance as a key member of the local leadership team

Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to Group and Regional HQs by owning monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, as well as monthly business reviews

Lead unit-level budgeting, forecasting cycles, and annual Business Plans in line with group policies and procedures, in close collaboration with local Operations, Commercial, and Regional Finance teams

Ensure smooth, unqualified interim and year-end internal and external audits, including timely preparation and submission of statutory accounts

Provide high-quality, timely financial decision support (e.g., customer tenders, CapEx evaluations, economic analysis, business development initiatives, investment proposals, productivity initiatives, and cost-optimization programs)

Deliver reliable, relevant, and timely management information and drive financial accountability across all departments

Develop a strong understanding of key business drivers, identify performance gaps, and proactively support units and departments in implementing corrective actions

Oversee financial transaction processing, including supplier invoicing and payments, customer invoicing and collections, general ledger postings, and balance sheet reconciliations; manage outsourcing activities where appropriate to optimize cost, efficiency, and quality

Maximize free cash flow, including active management of trade working capital, and ensure accurate cash flow forecasting

Ensure full compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, corporate tax, customs, VAT, and airport fee regulations

Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, data integrity, and internal controls

Act as senior finance lead on ad hoc projects, restructuring initiatives, and corporate development activities

Profile

Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Controlling; preferably a qualified accountant or MBA Work Experience

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in financial and management accounting and controlling, ideally within a multinational environment and with progressively increasing responsibilities

Proven experience in designing and improving cross-functional processes (e.g., Order-to-Cash, Purchase-to-Pay)

In-depth knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, NL GAAP) and local tax and compliance requirements

Strong analytical mindset with well-developed problem-solving skills

Excellent timemanagement and projectmanagement capabilities

Collaborative team player with the ability to demonstrate leadership when required

Proven people management experience Language & Communication Skills

Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels, from shop floor to boardroom

Comfortable working within a matrix organization

Strong influencing and motivational skills

Requirements:

The possibility to apply for a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and a Certificate of No Objection (VGB) (mandatory requirement)

Willingness to undergo screening by the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (for this, it is important that you have lived consecutive in the Netherlands for the past eight years)
