Finance Manager, Amazon Leo Finance
Amazon Leo is seeking a Finance Manager to serve as the strategic finance partner to the Leo Launch Operations team, a critical and capital-intensive function within Amazon's satellite broadband initiative. This role will provide financial leadership for launch vehicle procurement, mission planning, and orbital deployment operations representing multi-billion commitments and planned investments.
The Finance Manager will operate as a financial strategist and trusted advisor to Launch Operations leadership, driving financial decision-making for a complex and dynamic aspect of the Leo program. This role requires deep expertise in capital-intensive project finance, the ability to navigate rapidly evolving market conditions for commercial launch services, and the strategic acumen to optimize launch economics across a multi-year satellite constellation deployment.
The successful candidate will establish and lead financial governance frameworks, change control processes, and planning mechanisms that ensure optimal strategies across launch vehicle contracts, supporting hardware investments, and mission operations. This role demands analytical capabilities, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence senior leadership in an environment characterized by technical complexity, market volatility, and operational ambiguity.

• Design, implement, and lead comprehensive change control processes and governance frameworks for all launch-related financial commitments, establishing thresholds, approval authorities, and escalation procedures
• Develop and maintain comprehensive tracking and reporting systems for launch-related commitments, changes, and variances, providing transparency and accountability across the organization
• Develop sophisticated financial models evaluating launch economics across vehicle classes, providers, and mission profiles, incorporating technical constraints and market dynamics
• Identify, quantify, and develop mitigation strategies for financial risks across the launch operations portfolio, including launch vehicle pricing volatility, schedule delays, mission failures, provider capacity constraints, and regulatory changes
• Partner with Mission Management and Legal teams on launch contract negotiations, providing financial analysis, deal structuring recommendations, and evaluation of commercial terms to optimize total cost of ownership
• Influence decision-making across multiple infrastructure stakeholders, Program Management, and Legal through data-driven analysis and strategic recommendations
• Serve as the finance spokesperson for launch operations in cross-organizational forums, leadership reviews, and strategic planning sessions, including delivering executive-level presentations to VP/SVP leadership, articulating complex launch financial strategies and trade-offs
