Finance Generalist
The Finance Generalist in the Office of Research Core Administration (ORCA) will provide support to the Assistant Director and Director of Research Infrastructure. ORCA supports operations of 18 Research Cores in the School of Medicine by reporting monthly income statements, billing and fund recovery, facilitating new hires, performing variance analysis for the Dean’s Office, coordinating the annual RAC report and strategizing core operations with the Director of Infrastructure. The candidate will report directly to and will work closely with Assistant Director of Research Infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Performing account certification (packing slip reconciliation)Performing accounting adjustments and journal entriesUpdating payroll costing allocationPerforming payroll accounting adjustmentsProcessing checks and reviewing ad hoc bank transactionsSolving issues related to purchase ordersSupport with customer accountsIn addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

The anticipated hiring range is $50,000–$57,000, commensurate with education and experience. This is an exempt-level, benefited position. Learn more about UVA benefits. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
