Senior Manager – Finance Data & Innovation Controllership & Expense, Hyderabad

Position Overview
 

Financial Senior Manager supporting Enterprise Portfolio Finance on the spend management team. This position will act as a financial advisor for the Finance Data & Innovation overall budget and will also lead financial reporting for business costs within the Enterprise Portfolio. The focus of the role is to lead crucial accounting and financial expense logistics. Other expense management responsibilities will include financial reporting, variance analysis, and serving as a day-to-day financial consultant to key departmental leaders including the SVP and associated leadership team.

This position will own monthly and quarterly accounting production activities for the department among other financial activities. Strong knowledge of US GAAP principles and forward-looking analysis are crucial to ensure expenses are managed appropriately. Effective communication of financial performance across various levels of the organization will also be key.

Responsibilities:

Own key finance and accounting logistics activities for the Finance Data & Innovation organization including processing journal vouchers (JVs) and accruals to ensure costs are accurately reflected per US GAAP.

Serve as primary finance contact for the Finance Data & Innovation organization to provide consolidated financial details as needed to various business partners across various levels of the organization.

Serve as subject matter expert for business funding related to Enterprise Portfolio, provide quarterly guidance, and advise various portfolio business partners on business funding processes

Coordinate with finance leaders within the department to present actual expense activity and develop best estimate forward looking projections

Track total organizational costs including multiple funding sources from both Portfolio and baseline

Assist in the quarterly re-projection process through partnership with key financial contacts for full year estimated spend

Understand individual department hiring needs throughout the year including internal and external vendors and work with appropriate business and HR partners to convey financial impacts.

Lead and manage a high-performing finance team, setting clear expectations and provide guidance to ensure timely and accurate delivery of all financial and accounting responsibilities.

Foster a collaborative environment, delegate tasks effectively, and support team development to achieve departmental goals and deliverables.

Ensure requisitions are set up correctly for finance purposes and work directly with hiring managers as needed

Act as Microsoft Excel expert to build new and complex models with ability to succinctly summarize key messages to senior leaders based on up-to-date financial data

Create standardized data pulls from various financial systems (Oracle, Workday, Hyperion, Pathfinder, Clarity, and others) to present actual spend and projected spend across different expense categories

Provide financial support on an ah hoc basis to help understand broader talent strategy needed to achieve hiring goals

Actively liaise with various finance partners and other matrix partners such as Finance controller, segment operating expense finance leads, accounting, procurement, and portfolio leads as needed

Develop strong understanding of expense drivers to make proactive expense management recommendations to finance leaders

Provide cost pool updates as needed to allocation costs across externally reported business segments, products, and other dimensions. 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 13-16 years of experience in finance, financial analysis, or business planning field

Skills:

Experience with key financial and accounting functions including, but not limited to processing journal vouchers, submitting expense accruals

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to lead and develop a finance team to deliver accurate, timely results and achieve departmental goals

Ability to effectively communicate financial process across both business and technology partners

Proactive mindset Experience with Hyperion expense reporting systems to submit expense projections and pull ad hoc reports as needed

Ability to manage financial and accounting processes according to set deadlines

Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Tableau, and Microsoft Power Point

Ability to move forward with processes with little or ambiguous information

Additional Information:

This role will requires work hours for the afternoon shift.
