Field Test Technician
Job Title: Field Test Technician Job Description Contribute to the deployment and validation of next-generation robotic and automation systems on a large scale. This role involves executing hands-on tests, validating system performance, and capturing essential data for decision-makers to transition from pilot to production. Responsibilities + Execute formal test cases and adhere to established test plans and protocols. + Track defects and non-conformances through closure using standard tools. + Conduct system-level testing, including functional, regression, and FAT/SAT, on integrated robotics and automation cells, as well as AMR/AGV systems. + Collect and analyze key performance indicators and other performance metrics, while maintaining accurate run logs and discrepancy reports. + Produce clear and comprehensive test documentation, including test reports, deviation records, SOP updates, and sign-offs. + Perform equipment validation, including pre/post job checks and functional verification, and maintain the health of test fixtures. + Drive root cause analysis using methods such as 5 Whys, 8D, and Pareto analysis in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams. + Recommend corrective actions and utilize diagnostic tools, such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, and DAQ/loggers, to interpret signals from sensors, actuators, conveyors, and pneumatics. + Collaborate with Test, Systems, and Controls Engineering teams, as well as site operations, to communicate risks, blockers, and results effectively. + Travel extensively for field deployments, spending 2–3 months per site. Essential Skills + 3+ years of hands-on QA test execution experience in hardware, robotics, or automation environments. + Proven experience in system-level testing, including FAT/SAT and regression, as well as defect tracking with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or HP ALM. + Ability to read and troubleshoot PLCs using platforms like Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, and Mitsubishi, though programming is not required. + Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, including sensors, actuators, conveyors, and pneumatics, and familiarity with industrial safety and LOTO practices. + Proficiency with test instrumentation, such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, and data logging and analysis tools like Excel, with Python or LabVIEW being a plus. + Willingness to travel for multi-site deployments and immediate availability for a start within 2–4 weeks, with openness to temporary relocation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, DE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.44 - $46.86/hr.
