Field Technician (Mechanical Candidates)
**Field Technician (Mechanical)** **1st shift** **(Will not travel for first 6 months of employment)** **Job Description** Responsible for the repair, assembly, calibration, and diagnostics of all types of valves, actuators, and related instruments. This role includes evaluating and repairing pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuators. Tasks involve pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, in-process inspection, machining, lapping, surface preparation, painting, assembly, testing, and final inspection on various types of valves and actuators. Additionally, the technician will perform calibration and testing of valves, related instruments, and process instrumentation, as well as assemble new and repaired equipment. The role requires documentation of repair, testing, and assembly activities, including causes of failure, actions taken, and parts used. Customer communication for technical assistance, troubleshooting, and determining the disposition of repairs is also a key responsibility. Adherence to all safety, quality, and company rules and regulations is mandatory, along with completion of site-specific safety requirements. **Responsibilities** + Repair, assemble, calibrate, and diagnose all types of valves, actuators, and related instruments. + Evaluate and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuators. + Perform pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, in-process inspection, machining, lapping, surface preparation, painting, assembly, testing, and final inspection. + Calibrate and test valves, related instruments, and process instrumentation. + Assemble new and repaired equipment. + Document repair, testing, and assembly activities, noting causes of failure, actions taken, and parts used. + Provide customer communication for technical assistance, troubleshooting, and repair disposition. + Adhere to all safety, quality, and company rules and regulations. + Complete site-specific safety requirements. **Essential Skills** + Experience with mechanical, troubleshooting, repair, and hand tools. + Blueprint reading. + Preventive maintenance. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with hand/power tools. + Mechanically inclined (e.g., farm hand, automotive experience, machine builder). + Ability to travel once direct. + Mechanical troubleshooting. + Valve maintenance. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
