We are urgently hiring two Survey Assistants for the Manassas Office to support the Dominion Strategic Underground program. This initiative, launched in 2014, aims to enhance electric grid reliability by relocating the most outage-prone overhead distribution lines underground, predominantly in Virginia. The construction mileage budget has increased by nearly 43%, necessitating additional Survey Assistants in both Manassas and Richmond, VA.
ResponsibilitiesWork as a Survey Assistant on one of Virginia's largest distribution projects.Support the relocation of power lines from overhead to underground across the state.Operate as part of a two-person crew, traveling to various sites daily.Utilize Trimble equipment and DTS5 Data collecting equipment.Essential SkillsExperience in labor, utility, and land surveying.Familiarity with total station and construction techniques.Competence in field technician roles.Additional Skills & QualificationsSurveying and GPS knowledge.Proficiency in AutoCAD and construction stakeout.Experience with mapping and GIS.Ability to work outdoors and be comfortable with varying weather conditions.Strong work ethic and reliability.Work EnvironmentThe work environment involves daily site visits within the Manassas, VA service territory. Teams typically report directly to the job site rather than starting at the office, with the first project commencing around 7 am. Candidates will be part of a two-person crew and will work throughout diverse outdoor conditions.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
