Field Technician
Job Title: Field TechnicianJob Description We offer a full-time opportunity for an experienced QC/ICC Field Technician in various offices. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction testing and inspection of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or steel with ICC certifications in reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, structural masonry, structural steel, and/or spray-applied fireproofing. Responsibilities + Conduct on-site observations and inspections to ensure compliance with local building codes and project contract documents. + Collect samples and perform specific QA/QC tests on construction materials and building components according to ASTM, ACI, and other standards. + Compile detailed records of observations, inspections, and test results. + Work unsupervised in the field as the company's representative under the direction of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager. Essential Skills + Experience in construction testing and inspection. + Ability to perform soil, concrete, masonry, and steel testing. + Proficiency in reading and understanding structural blueprints and current code requirements. + Knowledge of standards related to the construction and inspection of reinforced concrete and masonry structures. Additional Skills & Qualifications + ICC certifications in reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, structural masonry, structural steel, and/or spray-applied fireproofing. + Experience in civil engineering or geology preferred, but not required. + Willingness to train. Work Environment Work is primarily conducted in the field with a company truck available. Employees will work unsupervised under the direction of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager. The role involves technology-enabled testing, inspection, and certification services to ensure code compliance and project delivery. The company operates a nationwide office network with over 1,000 expert team members. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
