Field Technician
**Field Service Technician** Job Description As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring all safety and operational policies are followed while maintaining communication with supervisors and dispatch to provide timely updates on estimated time of arrivals and job completions. Your role will involve the installation of CO2 gas detection systems and associated cabling, testing and troubleshooting network communication issues, and conducting thorough inspections of cable lines to ensure system efficiency. Additionally, you will be responsible for pulling, routing, or labeling CAT5 or CAT6 cables, and collaborating with other field service team members to resolve complex issues while providing high-quality service to customers. Responsibilities + Follow all company safety and operational policies, procedures, and directives from supervisors. + Maintain telephone communication with supervisors and dispatch to provide timely updates. + Perform installations of CO2 gas detection systems and associated cabling. + Test and troubleshoot network communication issues. + Conduct thorough inspections of cable lines to ensure system functionality. + Pull, route, or label CAT5 or CAT6 cable and use ladders where necessary. + Collaborate with field service team members to resolve complex issues. + Provide high-quality service to all customers. + Verify current inventory levels and communicate deficiencies with supervisors. + Maintain proper operation of all equipment, tools, and ladders. + Ensure sufficient inventory levels of all parts. + Provide daily communication to assigned supervisors. Essential Skills + Experience in installing and running network cabling. + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations. + Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. + Effective communication skills for addressing installation challenges verbally and via email. + Basic mathematical skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. + Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. + Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office products. + Basic electronic knowledge. + Strong mechanical ability. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with hand and power tools, blueprint reading, assembly, mechanical, electrical, and preventive maintenance. + Field service experience is advantageous. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
