Job Description
The Construction Field / Materials Technician role involves performing field inspections and observations for commercial construction projects. You will receive comprehensive training in using the equipment necessary to carry out your duties effectively.
ResponsibilitiesTransport equipment, specimens, or documents to field personnel, clients, or other offices, and provide physical assistance in equipment set-up.Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities, observations, and results.Observe proof rolls, undercut operations, perform footing inspections with dynamic cone penetrometer, and inspect rebar.Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications.Interact with client representatives, including supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, at project sites.Perform analysis or calculations to check the accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of testing data.Conduct sampling or testing as directed.Provide assistance to other field personnel.Clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.Assist other technicians or professional staff with routine tasks.Take on progressively increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments.Essential SkillsProficiency in testing, inspection, sampling, and construction tasks.General labor experience.Concrete testing and material sampling capabilities.Experience with inventory and field inspection.Computer skills for data entry and report preparation.Skills in soil and asphalt testing.Possession of ACI certification.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working outdoors.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Physical ability to bend, kneel, and reach.Willingness to work long hours.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The position involves spending 90% of the time in the field, with typical work hours ranging from 50 to 70 hours per week. Employees must be available to work night shifts, starting at 8 PM, and are expected to work 12-hour days. The standard work week runs from Monday to Saturday, with potential flexibility required for first shift work, for which employees will be notified in advance.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
