We are looking for you to join our team as a Field Technician 2 based out of San Diego, CA.
What you’ll get to do:
Maintain and provide technical support for Mission Module (MM) equipment located at Mission Module Readiness Center (MMRC) Naval Base San Diego, with some travel to other Navy bases and deployed sites worldwide.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Analyze and evaluate equipment relative to specified performance parametersPerform hands-on scheduled maintenance on MM equipmentPerform hands-on corrective maintenance, to include fault isolationInstall and remove MM equipment onboard US Navy shipsProvide logistics support; collaborate with customers/suppliers for technical and supply support Able to operate independently when supporting flyaway team maintenance and troubleshooting at various sites, both CONUS and OCONUSRequired to use tools and equipment necessary to conduct all repairs to include general hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenchesBasic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years related experience.Mechanical experience in automotive, marine, or aerospace industries or in heavy equipment maintenanceMust have US Citizenship and be able to obtain a Secret level clearance. Final Secret clearance is required to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance for continued employment.Must be able to perform physically demanding work, to include working in tight, restricted access spaces; must be able to climb 20 ft ladders and stand for long periods of time; must be able to lift 50 lbs. Also, must be able to pass basic DOT physical exam to obtain forklift license and pass proficiency testsMust be willing to travel up to 25% both CONUS (continental U.S.) and OCONUS (outside the continental U.S.)Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Surface Warfare (SUW) and Mine Counter Measure (MCM) operations systemsExperience reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematicsExperience using basic hand tools (to include torque wrenches, multi-meters, micrometers, etc.)Understanding of electrical/mechanical concepts (types of current, basic hydraulic theory, etc.)Experience with Ship’s Maintenance and Material Management (to include using the 3M system), Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance (MFOM)Knowledge of Surface Warfare (SUW) and Mine Countermeasure (MCM) operations and systemsActive Secret ClearancePrimary Level Salary Range: $54,400.00 - $90,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
