Field Technical Service Engineer
Field Technical Service Engineer Overview:

*REMOTE - Ideal locations would be MI, IL, WI, MN, IN or OH.

Celanese Engineered Materials is seeking a Field Technical Service engineer with strong polymer processing experience and fundamental knowledge of polymers and scientific molding to join the Americas FTS (Field Technical Service) organization.

Responsibilities: Solve customer polymer processing issues utilizing fundamental polymer knowledge, polymer processing skills, and intuitionIndependently design experiments to determine the effect of polymer processing variables on our materials and the customer productDocument key results and processing parameters used during engagements into our standardized form and upload to our repositoryUnderstand appropriate polymer analytical testing connecting results to polymer processing, chemistry, and customer observationsInterface with product teams to support new product developmentCollaborate closely with commercial team on customer projects keeping them updated on status and concernsAid in developing processing recommendations of new and existing products for customersDevelop strong relationships with customers to aid in Celanese being the partner of choice Qualifications: 10+ years of polymer processing experience required; BS in related discipline preferred. Scientific molding certification is a plusHands on practical experience operating injection molding equipment; experience in other processing methods in addition to injection molding is a plusExpertise in polymer materials and plastics processing; work experience supporting OEMs or tiers directly is a plusProficiency in tool and/or plastic part design, Computer Aided Engineer, or process simulation tools is a plusReadiness to travel up to 80% to customer or Celanese sites
