We are currently looking for a Field Surveyor to join our Project Management/Construction Management (PMCM) team to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and technical compliance on our world-class projects.
What You’ll Be DoingAs the Client’s field-based surveying representative, you will provide independent oversight of all setting-out, dimensional control, and as-built surveying activities performed by the Contractor(s). You will be the technical eyes and ears on-site, ensuring that what is designed is precisely what is built.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversight & Verification: Act as the independent authority for all surveying activities; verify site control networks, benchmarks, datums, and reference points established by the Contractor.
Audit & Monitoring: Monitor contractor setting-out works to confirm alignment with approved drawings and tolerances; perform independent spot checks to validate critical structural and civil works.
Data Integrity: Review and confirm as-built survey data and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contract requirements.
Conflict Resolution: Identify and support the resolution of surveying-related non-conformances, discrepancies, and potential clashes.
Collaboration: Coordinate with PMCM Construction Management, Engineering, and Design teams to resolve technical issues and support progress verification (quantities and physical completion).
Reporting: Maintain rigorous survey records and logs; assist in the assessment of contractor claims related to survey data or dimensional discrepancies.
Handover: Support project closeout by validating final as-built information and survey deliverables.
What Required Skills You’ll BringExperience: Minimum 8 years of experience in field surveying, specifically within large-scale construction or PMCM environments.
Surveying Software: Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Trimble Business Center, Leica Geo Office, or equivalent for data processing.
Technical Instrumentation: Proven ability to validate data from total stations, GNSS/GPS, laser scanners, and digital levels.
CAD & Engineering Tools: Working knowledge of AutoCAD / Civil 3D for reviewing layouts and overlaying survey data against design models.
BIM & Digital Engineering: Basic to intermediate understanding of Navisworks, Revit (review level), or Bentley platforms; familiarity with BIM execution plans and coordinate systems.
Data Management: Competent in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and experience working within Common Data Environments (CDEs) like Aconex, ProjectWise, or Procore.
Field Tech: Comfort using digital field tools (tablets/rugged devices) and familiarity with GIS platforms.
What Desired Skills You’ll BringFormal training/certification on survey instruments (Trimble or Leica).
BIM awareness or ISO 19650 training.
Experience with UAV/drone surveying or digital as-built capture.
Knowledge of QA/QC digital workflows and document control systems.
