Field Supervisor - Construction Materials Testing

Job Description
We are seeking a Construction Materials Field Supervisor to oversee daily activities of technical field staff performing soil, concrete, and construction materials testing in both field and laboratory environments. In this leadership role, you’ll coordinate scheduling, provide technical guidance, support project delivery, and ensure quality, safety, and client expectations are consistently met.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:Provide direct oversight to field staff performing soil, concrete, and construction materials testingTrack daily project progress and upcoming project requirementsCommunicate schedule updates and resource needs with Department Managers, Project Managers, and Office ManagersPlan, schedule, and dispatch field technicians to project sites based on certifications, skills, and project prioritiesServe as a primary point of contact for clients regarding timelines, staffing, and project statusEnsure all testing follows project plans, specifications, and quality standardsManage workload flow (“pushing/pulling work in”) and support billing activitiesDeliver training, coaching, and professional development to field staffAssist in preparing proposals and cost estimates for clientsParticipate in recruiting and selecting technical field staffIdentify project risks; follow risk management policies and protect company interestsLead safety efforts, promote safe work practices, and ensure pre-task planningSupport continuous quality monitoring and engage APRs early in project phasesProvide hands-on testing support as neededRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred4–6 years of relevant experience in construction materials testing or related fieldMinimum 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experienceValid driver’s license with acceptable driving historyPreferred Certification:Certifications or licensure in a relevant field (e.g., ACI, NICET, nuclear gauge, soil/concrete testing certifications)Why Join Us:Lead meaningful, high-impact projects.Work with a collaborative and supportive team.Opportunities to grow and advance your career.100% employee-owned company where you can make a difference!
