**Job Title: Athletic Fields Maintenance Specialist**
Job Description
Join our team as an Athletic Fields Maintenance Specialist, where you will be responsible for the care, maintenance, and renovation of all intercollegiate athletic fields and grounds. This role also includes assisting with fields and grounds maintenance on the main campus. You will report to the Athletic Field Manager and work closely with various campus departments to ensure optimal field conditions for both athletic and recreational activities.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and implement plans, policies, and procedures for the successful maintenance of all athletic fields and grounds on River Campus.
+ Collaborate with the Athletic Field Manager and Facilities Services managers to develop and manage the budget for field maintenance equipment and supplies.
+ Purchase, maintain, and manage inventory of field maintenance equipment and supplies.
+ Manage the mowing and irrigation system on the University River Campus.
+ Monitor and manage all riparian areas.
+ Assess and manage tree maintenance on property, ensuring no negative impact on construction or field maintenance.
+ Collaborate with varsity coaches to determine optimal playing conditions and execute plans to achieve them.
+ Ensure adherence to regulations, guidelines, and standards for NCAA Division I athletic fields.
+ Work with Recreational Services to determine optimal field conditions for club and intramural activities.
+ Coordinate work of technical consultants and contractors.
+ Supervise and train seasonal and student employees, including handling hiring processes, setting expectations, communications, training, development, performance management, and disciplinary actions.

Work Environment
The typical workweek is 40 hours, from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential for additional hours during the fall season, ranging from 40-60 hours per week. On game days, expect work hours from 9 AM to 9 PM. While performing duties, you will be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and various weather conditions, particularly when operating equipment like lawnmowers.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.76 - $20.76/hr.
