Job Title: Field Service Technician

Location: Wickliffe, OH

Shift: 1st (7am-3:30pm)

Pay: $30-42/hr

Job Description

The Field Service Technician will travel to customer sites (home nightly, will use service van) to perform both preventative and reactive maintenance on various types of machinery including dust collectors, conveyor systems, and control panels. The role involves 75% electrical maintenance and 25% mechanical maintenance. The technician will troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve equipment electrical problems, replace electrical components, and install motor starters, variable frequency drives, and disconnects. Additionally, the technician will mechanically troubleshoot and repair drives and gearboxes, perform scheduled preventative maintenance, and document all repairs while maintaining professional communication with clients.

Responsibilities

Travel to customer sites using service van for maintenance and repairs on crane machinery.Perform 75% electrical maintenance and 25% mechanical maintenance.Troubleshoot and resolve equipment electrical issues.Replace fuses, circuit breakers, electrical switches, and other components.Install motor starters, variable frequency drives, and disconnects.Mechanically troubleshoot and repair drives and gearboxes.Perform scheduled preventative maintenance.Document all repairs and communicate with clients professionally.

Essential Skills

Experience with crane service and the ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial crane equipment.Strong electrical troubleshooting and maintenance experience with 480v and multi-meter use.PLC and control panel troubleshooting experience (Siemens, Allen Bradley).Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and install VFDs, limit switches, and circuit breakers.Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and blueprints.Ability to operate scissor lift and/or boom lift.Experience with basic hand and power tools.Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Preferred experience with 230v DC.

Work Environment

The work shift is from 7:30am-3:30pm, with overtime as needed. Technicians are required to be on-call once every six weeks, receiving an extra $250 for that week. Any on-call service receives a minimum of 4 hours of double pay. Initially based out of Wickliffe, technicians will travel to various customer sites within a 100-mile radius of Cleveland. Once trained, technicians receive a company truck and can start their workday from home. The work environment varies depending on the client, with conditions ranging from hot to cold, dirty to clean, and well-lit to dark.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
