Job Title: Field Service Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to maintain and troubleshoot installed RF/range-related systems at customer sites. This role supports preventative maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and in-house RMA troubleshooting/repairs when not traveling. The ideal candidate is comfortable working from schematics and manuals, can follow step-by-step procedures, and can document work clearly in service reports. This is a high-visibility, customer-facing role supporting both defense and commercial customers, with travel patterns that can vary based on customer downtime windows and calibration schedules.
Responsibilities
Perform in-house RMA troubleshooting and repair support for controllers and related electronics returned for service.Conduct bench-level electrical troubleshooting, including basic circuits, wiring issues, and continuity checks.Review technical documentation such as schematics, manuals, and procedures to support repairs and field readiness.Prepare and complete service documentation, detailing reports, steps taken, issues found, and resolutions.Execute preventative maintenance activities on installed systems, including belt inspection/replacement, pulley checks, lubrication/greasing, and gearbox inspection.Troubleshoot range/system downtime issues, often electrical in nature, such as broken wires, controller behavior, and circuit faults.Work from drawings and manuals, following defined procedures to diagnose and correct problems.Document site activity in detailed site reports, covering actions taken, issues encountered, and resolutions achieved.Occasionally support more advanced activities over time with training, including controller tuning and software interaction (e.g., PID loop tuning) and configuration checks and verification activities.Essential Skills
U.S. Citizenship is required for many defense/customer sites.Willingness to travel frequently, with an expectation of around 50% travel, which may be higher during peak demand.Fundamental electrical troubleshooting skills, including comfort with basic components such as resistors, diodes, and relays, wiring faults, continuity checks, and interpreting simple circuits.Ability to read and use technical documentation, including schematics, manuals, blueprints, and drawings, and follow step-by-step procedures.Strong computer skills, including the ability to write clear service reports, use basic software tools, and work with controller software as trained.Hands-on mechanical aptitude for maintenance tasks, with comfort in inspection, lubrication, belts/pulleys, and occasional heavier component replacement (gearbox is typically a two-person task).Additional Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of hands-on technical experience in fields such as electrical/electromechanical field service, maintenance, integration, or military electronics.Military experience is common within the team but not required.Prior experience in RF-related or adjacent industries, such as defense primes, electronics manufacturing, or test ranges.An Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, or engineering technology is preferred but not required.Experience in writing structured field reports and communicating with customers onsite.Work Environment
The position is based in Warminster, PA, when not traveling. Travel is expected to be around 50%, potentially increasing to 75% at times due to staffing and project needs. The schedule includes in-office work when not traveling, with fieldwork typically occurring in Monday to Friday travel blocks and occasional longer site stays of up to three weeks, depending on the calibration scope. The work involves hands-on tasks in both shop and field environments, with the ability to lift and handle tools and parts (heavy replacements typically require team lifting). Work may occur in secured or limited-communication facilities, such as RF-shielded areas, where phone service may be limited inside buildings. Compensation includes hourly pay with overtime opportunities.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
