Field Service Technician
Job Title: Field Service TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to provide exceptional field support to our customers in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The ideal candidate will ensure machines operate at peak efficiency through precise calibration and testing, commission and test machines, and perform preventative maintenance and emergency services at customer sites.

ResponsibilitiesTravel to customer sites and deliver efficient field support.Verify that machines are operating at peak efficiency through proper calibration and testing.Commission and test machines using certified test procedures.Perform preventative maintenance and emergency service.Accurately document and report all service-related activities, including Electronic Service Reports, Calibration Reports, and Expense Reports.Promote sales of additional product offerings such as service contracts, new equipment, and spare parts kits.Provide timely feedback on equipment reliability and design.Maintain a satisfactory parts inventory and requisition additional parts as needed.Maintain all company property in good working condition, including laptops, cell phones, safety equipment, and tools.Exercise safe working practices and procedures at all times.Conduct on-site training with customer personnel to ensure proper operation of equipment.Essential SkillsProficiency in electrical, mechanical troubleshooting, and repair.Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and wiring.Field service experience, including installation and assembly.Strong organizational skills for completing paperwork and reports.Self-motivated with a drive to exceed expectations.Professional communication skills and ability to resolve customer issues.Capability to use electronic test equipment such as multi-meters.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum 3 years of previous experience in a technical capacity or 4 years of military experience required.Field travel experience preferred.Knowledge in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electro-mechanical equipment.Ability to identify root-cause issues.Desire to learn a diverse set of products and continually improve product knowledge.Work Environment

The position requires extensive travel to customer sites. Technicians will use electronic test equipment and tools, and must maintain all company property in good condition. Safety is paramount, and adherence to safe working practices is essential. The role involves conducting on-site training and working with customer personnel.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carol Stream, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
