Field Service Technician

Job Title: OHD Technician - (Overhead Door Technician)

Job Description

The Residential Overhead Door Technician will join our team to install and service various residential overhead door mechanics and systems. We offer product-specific training to equip new technicians with the necessary techniques and procedures related to our product lines.

Responsibilities

Install and service residential overhead door mechanics and systems.Work in diverse environments and weather conditions.Represent the company positively at customer job sites.Work 40+ hours a week, including overtime, some weekends, and different job sites.Ensure punctuality, reliability, and maintain a professional demeanor as the primary contact for customers.Operate scissor lifts, high lifts, fork trucks, and other heavy equipment.Organize job sites and maintain attention to detail.Ensure job site safety per company policy and customer requirements.Complete product-specific training, sometimes requiring travel.Participate in emergency on-call rotation.Load and unload job site materials using hoists and slings when necessary.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical and electrical components.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams.Analytical and troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical components.Experience with scissor lifts, high lifts, fork trucks, and other heavy equipment.Job site organizational skills and attention to detail.Understanding of job site safety protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to complete required training for local manufacturing site access.Current or ability to obtain OSHA 30 certification.Current or ability to obtain Association of Reciprocal Safety Council (ARSC) certification.Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial overhead door installation/service.Experience in training and leading colleagues in job processes and procedures.ARC/MIG welding and metal fabrication skills.Understanding of PLC functions (ladder logic/programming) and relay logic circuit with 3 phase 480 volts.Valid driver’s license with strong driving record and ability to pass DOT physical and drug assessment.Insurable by the company’s insurance program for vehicle usage.

Work Environment

Work primarily on day shifts with occasional rare overnight stays and Saturday work. Physical requirements include the ability to lift bulky/heavy materials overhead and work at heights. The role involves working in various weather conditions including hot, cold, and snowy environments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $65520.00/yr.
