Field Service Technician
Job Title: Field Service Technician - $70k+

Expect to travel 30% of the year, usually in the Spring or Fall. Must be able to travel internationally.

Job Description

As a Field Service Technician, you'll ensure business continuity by providing expert technical support through training, repair, preventive maintenance, and startup assistance for instruments. Your role involves in-house and in-field assembly, troubleshooting, repair, and testing, maintaining detailed logs, and offering technical support via phone, Teams, and email. This role will require you to stay current with advanced technical procedures and collaborate with departments to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction, driving our long-term success.

Responsibilities

Perform in-house assembly, test, calibration, and First Article Test (FAT) of new instrument orders in accordance with company standards and/or customer requirements.Perform timely in-house troubleshooting, repair, and testing on customer instruments (RMA process).Assist with in-house and in-field troubleshooting of customer instruments.Complete and submit accurate 'Instrument Repair' documents, including diagnosis, repair estimates, and descriptions in accordance with company policy.Provide technical and operational support to customers via phone, email, and other communication methods.Issue written repair reports for in-house repairs and field service reports for in-field customer visits, and file reports in accordance with company policy.Stay informed on new methods, techniques, and advanced maintenance procedures.Keep sales and management informed of customer issues and technical problems.Collaborate with other departments and factory team members to support the customer base.Coordinate with customers to schedule and confirm requirements for in-field services.Frequent travel is required, averaging 30% of the year, with a higher percentage during customer outages.Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.

Essential Skills

Knowledge ordinarily acquired through attainment of high school diploma, with an Associates, Technical Certificate, or military training in electronics/equivalent work experience.Previous experience working with and troubleshooting electronic instruments.Competent in analyzing and deriving meaning from technical drawings, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and process/flow charts.Previous field service experience required, minimum of 2 years.Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), Adobe Products, and ERP systems (SAP).Must have a valid Driver’s License (clean driving record required).Eligible to work in the USA, Canada & Mexico.Ability to travel internationally (passport required).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of US-EPA regulations for Source Emissions a plus.Knowledge of US-EPA National Ambient Air Quality Standards a plus.Ability to speak conversational Spanish a plus.

Work Environment

The role involves working in a large, clean, and organized shop with less than a dozen employees. The environment offers lots of space and the opportunity to work on diverse projects. Travel constitutes 30% of the role, visiting places such as cruise ships and power plants, and requires international travel to locations like Canada, Mexico, and Europe. The position involves working outdoors in industrial environments and at elevated heights.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
