Field Service Technician
**Field Service Technician $25 - $30/HR + Per Diem for Travel** **Job Description** As a Field Service Technician, you will coordinate projects, attend customer and vendor meetings, and oversee the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced machinery. This position involves working with cold, warm, and hot forging presses and related equipment used in industries such as automotive, aircraft, medical, and bridge construction. You will be responsible for ensuring equipment functionality at customer plants. **Responsibilities** + Troubleshoot, repair, and modify machinery efficiently. + Install, assemble, and disassemble machinery accurately. + Clean parts and follow established tool procedures. + Maintain lock out tag out procedures during repairs. + Conduct thorough preventative maintenance and report findings. + Coordinate closely with Sales Department and Office Staff on projects. + Obtain purchase approvals from the Field Service Supervisor. + Suggest redesigns for accessory components and communicate with overseas teams. + Prepare necessary parts and tools prior to projects and arrange travel. + Ensure all tools are accounted for post-service. + Refer to machine drawings during work and customer interactions. + Provide excellent customer service and handle inquiries. + Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office. + Submit expense and business trip reports promptly. + Develop new vendors and maintain customer relationships. **Essential Skills** + High mechanical aptitude with ability to disassemble and reassemble components. + Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and low voltage DC systems. + Capability to travel at least 50% of the time. + Professionalism in customer site interactions. + Ability to work well within a small, tight-knit team. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Welding and fabrication skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. + Bronze scraping skills. + Exposure to Mitsubishi PLCs and experience with forging machinery. + High school diploma or equivalent with basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. + Energetic, organized, and team-oriented with good judgment. + Flexibility to spend extended time away from home. + Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy great benefits including per diem, a company cell phone, vehicle, and impressive health and insurance coverage. In-house work hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with access to a laptop and desk space for planning. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MARION, Ohio. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
