**Field Service Mechanic - DIRECT HIRE** **Job Description** This field service position requires you to be local to Alexandria and involves 50% on-the-road assignments across the US, Europe, and Canada. The other 50% of the time will be spent in the shop, assisting automation technicians with equipment building. This role offers up to $32 per hour when working at home, with double pay when traveling. The Field Service Technician will install, troubleshoot, and support automated packaging equipment at various customer sites, both nationally and internationally. This position is ideal for a self-motivated and energetic individual who thrives in a collaborative, high-performing team environment and has a passion for travel, hands-on mechanical and electrical work, and delivering exceptional service experiences. **Responsibilities** + Install, troubleshoot, and support automated packaging equipment at customer sites. + Provide the experience and ensure the machine is the best in the plant. + Deliver a user-friendly machine that becomes the operator's favorite. + Conduct top-tier training and deliver superior customer experiences. + Successfully execute new machine/retro builds, including installation, testing, and support. + Test and assemble machines, ensuring project success. + Ensure concise and timely communication between the company and customers. + Provide quality assurance for retrofit and warranty assemblies. + Conduct quality audits on full machines. + Build trust and maintain strong customer relations. + Be the best technician in the plant to work with. + Independently solve problems in the field and identify retrofit opportunities. + Conduct service contracts. **Essential Skills** + Field service experience in packaging equipment or similar. + Electrical troubleshooting and wiring skills. + Mechanic and diesel expertise. + Automation and PLC troubleshooting capabilities. + HMI, schematic, mechanical, and electrical skills. + Mechanical assembly proficiency. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Previous field service experience on packaging equipment or similar is required. **Why Work Here?** Join a well-known local company with good values and benefits that prioritizes employee satisfaction and development. **Work Environment** Work in a clean manufacturing environment, ensuring a safe and comfortable workspace. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Alexandria, Minnesota. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
