Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Job Description
Join a well-established company in the industry as a Field Service Engineer, where you will have the opportunity to service and start plants, program SCADA and PLC systems, and assist in the production of detailed specifications and designs. This role requires collaboration with other professionals both inside and outside the engineering industry.
Responsibilities
Conduct site reviews to determine the status of control systems at treatment facilities.Troubleshoot instruments and control systems at customer sites.Program SCADA (Human Machine Interface) using specialized tools.Perform PLC programming.Troubleshoot computer systems and networks.Write detailed reports.Essential Skills
Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical systems.Experience with automation, PLCs, and SCADA systems.Mechanical engineering skills.Capability in PLC programming and using AutoCAD.Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with industrial equipment.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Basic engineering or technical skills.Experience in mechanical assembly, electronic wiring, and signal debugging.Willingness to learn new skills and ability to handle computer systems and instrumentation.Programming skills are a plus.Work Environment
The candidate will split their time between customer sites and working from home. Customer sites primarily include industrial equipment plants, mainly Waste Water plants. The role involves traveling around 50% of the time, covering areas from Maine to West Virginia and as far west as Pittsburgh, with most work being local in New Jersey. The candidate will be eligible for mileage reimbursement and all work-related expenses. The company is a small, tight-knit team, where the new hire will initially work closely with the owner for hands-on training before handling their own projects.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of OLD TAPPAN, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
