The Field Inspector position offers a dynamic blend of outdoor fieldwork and flexible remote days. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in independent, hands‑on environments and enjoys traveling across diverse regions—from Sacramento and San Francisco to Southern California and, at times, out-of-state locations.
Key ResponsibilitiesCapture detailed utility pole and wire attributes using cameras, field sheets, and specialized tools.Reconcile collected data and prepare for upcoming field assignments during remote workdays.Drive a personal vehicle throughout assigned service territories.Problem-solve in both independent and team-oriented settings, often in areas with limited connectivity.Communicate professionally with customers and property owners.Support field crews in the Santa Cruz or Sonoma areas, ideally while living locally and maintaining coordination with a San Diego-based team.Manage multiple fielding assignments and organize daily priorities efficiently.Essential SkillsStrong verbal and written communication.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data analysis.Sharp attention to detail, initiative, and a self-driven work style.Foundational understanding of construction concepts, electrical principles, and blueprint reading.Experience in distribution design.Preferred Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with IKE 4 GPS or Katapult.Comfort using Google Earth Pro and Bluebeam Revu.High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.Work Environment & ExpectationsFieldwork spans 8–12 hours for 3–4 days per week, often requiring travel across the region.Remote work occurs 1–2 days weekly to review field data and plan upcoming routes.A reliable personal vehicle is essential.Equipment such as a laptop, software, and IKE4 GPS device is provided.Personal items required include closed‑toe work boots, jeans, plain shirts, sunscreen, and daily water.Ability to lift and carry gear weighing 50–60 lbs.Primary reporting location is in San Diego, with statewide and occasional out-of-state travel possible.Job Type & Location

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
