Field Geotechnical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a developing engineering professional with a civil or geotechnical engineering degree to contribute to our projects. This role involves a combination of office work and field visits, applying geotechnical knowledge to assist in research, data collection, and analysis. You will have the opportunity to work under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and grow your skills in a supportive environment. Responsibilities + Assist in research, data collection, field observation, inspection, and field and laboratory testing. + Prepare associated reports or sections of larger reports. + Evaluate routine laboratory and field data in collaboration with other technical staff and supervisors. + Perform basic calculations and engineering analysis. + Draft routine proposals and assist in the preparation of more complex proposals. + Perform plan drafting using CAD software. + Work with engineering technician crews in testing, observations, and data gathering activities on project sites. + Prepare daily reports documenting activities and findings. Essential Skills + Civil or Geotechnical engineering degree. + Geotechnical engineering knowledge. + Proficiency in geotechnical analysis. + Experience with AutoCAD and engineering software. + Basic project management skills. + Ability to work effectively in an office setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history. + Experience in geotechnical investigation and construction. + EIT certification is a plus. + Familiarity with geology and geotechnical processes. Work Environment This position is mainly office-based with some field visits. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
