Job Title: Field Engineer
Job Description
The Electrical Field Engineer supports the successful execution of solar energy and data center construction projects by providing on-site coordination, documentation control, schedule tracking, and communication between field crews, general contractors, and project management teams. This role plays a critical part in ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, schedules, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Maintain and manage project document control systems, including drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and as-builts.Track revisions and ensure field teams are working from current documents.Support project scheduling efforts, including development and maintenance of 1-week and 3-week look-ahead schedules.Coordinate planned activities with field supervision and subcontractors.Assist with tracking daily production, labor hours, and installed quantities.Support progress reporting and forecasting.Conduct field walks to verify work completed aligns with plans and schedules.Serve as a liaison between the electrical contractor and General Contractor (GC).Participate in coordination meetings, safety meetings, and planning sessions.Communicate field constraints, material needs, and schedule impacts to the project team.Assist with onboarding of new field personnel, including orientation coordination and documentation support.Support site safety initiatives and compliance with project safety requirements.Assist in quality control efforts by verifying installation aligns with drawings and specifications.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associates or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, engineering, or related fieldAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsWillingness to travel in the MidwestWork Environment
The position requires traveling to project sites in the Midwest. The field engineer will work in diverse environments, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while coordinating with multiple teams. Adaptability to various site conditions and effective communication are key aspects of this role.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kaukauna, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $36.00/hr.
