Patients with mitral and tricuspid heart valve disease often have complex conditions with limited treatment options. Our Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Therapies (TMTT) business unit is boldly pursuing an innovative portfolio of technologies to address a patient’s unmet clinical needs. The successful candidate will be providing expertise and clinical support on the device, procedure and protocol during cases and focusing on growing the market share by identifying, developing and closing new sales opportunities within TMTT portfolio business unit. The role is field based in Porto, and travelling is required, since the region to cover will be Portugal and Galicia.
 

How you’ll make an impact:

Throughout commercial procedures, provide physicians and medical staff with required follow-up support to ensure continuity of education and technical support related to all aspects of patient outcome.

Responsible for certification of the centers, physicians and other related staff, as well as EW personnel and as outlined within EW SOPs.

Provide education on all aspects of the device, device handling, implantation and troubleshooting techniques related to equipment, tools and products required for device implants.

Educate and train physicians, hospital personnel and hospital staff on technical matters related to products and procedures through conducting and/or coordinating one-on-one ad hoc training sessions and in-service structured education programs.

Regularly reviews clinical support activities, changes in the market and assigned accounts, as well as, competitive activity with the NSM and the appropriate Sales Specialist.

Interact with KOL and proctors.

Develop and continuously improve training curriculum, training materials and training tools, based on clinical trial experience, EW guidelines and SOP.

Plan and implement growth strategies within focused accounts in partnership with the Sales and Sales Management.

Learns the product(s), physiology, anatomy, applications of the market and Edwards Lifesciences.

Fully monitor clinical support activities, changes in the market and assigned accounts, as well as, competitive activity with the NSM and the appropriate Sales Specialist.

Other incidental duties.

What you’ll need (Required):

Bachelor's Degree in related field (Biomedical Engineering or Nursing) and training experience in clinical / technical environment is required.

Experience with Echocardiography is required

3 years experience in Medical devices industry and clinical experience is required.

What else we look for (Preferred):

Proven expertise in MS Office Suite and ability to operate general office machinery.

Good written and verbal communication skills, presentation, and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills.

Good problem-solving and critical thinking skill's.

Proven understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, pathology and physiology.

Moderate understanding of medical device regulatory requirements and documents, device accountability and adverse events reporting.

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Strict attention to detail.

Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment.

Must be able to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams and representing the organization on specific projects.

Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships.

Proficiency in English, Portuguese and Spanish, written and spoken is a big advantage.

Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control.
