Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems. Record details of repairs made and parts used. Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools. Clean and lubricate parts. Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, grinders, or saws. Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Tune or overhaul engines. Repair bent or torn sheet metal. Other seasonal mechanical duties as assigned. Drive to town on occasion to pick up parts. ### Minimum Education Required No High School Diploma or GED required. ### Minimum Experience Required Minimum of 12 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles. Workers must be able to speak English. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Frequent stooping is required. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
