Position Summary:
Beacon Hill's client is seeking a highly organized and professional Family Law Legal Assistant to support attorneys in the Family Law practice group. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and substantive legal support experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage sensitive, confidential matters with discretion. This role offers a hybrid work schedule and the opportunity to contribute to a highly respected legal team.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide legal and administrative support to family law attorneys, including drafting and proofreading pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery documents, and correspondence

Prepare, organize, and maintain client files and case documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with firm procedures

Manage calendaring for hearings, mediations, client meetings, deadlines, and court appearances

Coordinate and schedule client consultations, depositions, and meetings with opposing counsel, experts, and other parties

Assist with preparation for hearings, trials, and settlement conferences, including organizing exhibits and compiling necessary documentation

Draft routine correspondence and client communications under attorney guidance

Manage electronic filing with courts and agencies, and maintain knowledge of local court rules and e-filing procedures

Track case status and deadlines, and assist attorneys with trial preparation tasks

Handle confidential client information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism

Perform other administrative tasks to support the Family Law team as needed

Qualifications:

1-4+ years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably with family law experience

Strong understanding of family law procedures, terminology, and documentation preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with case management systems

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and colleagues

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Hybrid schedule (combination of in-office and remote work)
