Our client in the Computer Hardware Manufacturing industry is seeking an IT Desktop Support Engineer to join their team. As a IT Desktop Support Engineer, you will be part you will be part of a global wafer systems Factory IT Support team within the wider IT organization, supporting manufacturing of the recording heads in a 24x7 environment. This role includes installing and maintaining Factory PCs, supporting factory solutions and executing processes to maximize uptime of mission critical IT equipment and software. 12 month contract, fully onsite in Bloomington, MN. **Job Title:** IT Desktop Support Engineer **Location:** Bloomington, MN (fully onsite) **Pay Range:** $30-32/hour **What’s the Job?** + Be part of global wafer support team supporting factory IT operations at wafer manufacturing sites - Springtown and Normandale + Cover factory IT help desk working onsite in a 12-hour rotating shift (DAY / NIGHT shifts) + Install and maintain IT Factory PCs according to the factory standards + Be responsible for security patching of factory systems ensuring compliance against the security vulnerabilities + Maintain compliance for all Info security initiatives including but not limited to endpoint inventory, anti-virus, windows patching + Participate and contribute to the global projects towards enhancing and upgrading factory systems + Adhere to desktop software license management procedures + Be responsible for fault diagnosis & correction for the incidents reported + Provide support to Wafer Floor Factory Software on the factory PCs and variety of solutions, services hosted in data centers + Record and track tickets towards prompt closures with customer feedback + Monitor alerts, service availability and performance dashboards responding promptly with actions and escalations to maintain service availability & required performance levels + Follow troubleshooting guides (OCAPs) to resolve common application issues + Interface with other global IT organizations wherever needed to ensure compliance with global factory IT standards and practices & IT policies + Escalate or redirect tickets to other global IT support teams wherever applicable providing regular feedback and updates to the customers + Implement and support any changes to the factory PCs, systems + Provide IT support to planned maintenance activities at the sites + Offer flexibility in covering shifts wherever needed + Be able to develop small scale scripting/automation where needed + Leverage GenAI in developing solutions **What’s Needed?** + Great communicator + Innovation in problem solving on technical issues + Service oriented, ability to go beyond ensuring customer success + Excellent time management skills + Ability to engage with multiple customers simultaneously and professionally on complex technical issues + Proactive and self-learning **What’s in it for me?** + Long term employment, 12 months + Benefits (health, dental, vision, 401K, etc.) + 40 hours of paid sick and safe leave as a contractor in Minnesota If this is a role that interests you and you’d like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
