Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Facility Security Officer (FSO) to manage our National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and oversee all aspects of our facility’s security profile. As we scale our product sales to federal agencies, you will be the primary point of contact for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and ensure our team remains compliant, cleared, and ready to compete for high-level contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Management: Administer all aspects of the NISP and ensure compliance with the 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM). Maintain the company’s "Facility Clearance" (FCL) in good standing.
Personnel Security (PERSEC): Manage the initiation and tracking of security clearances via DISS (Defense Information Security System) and NBIS. Conduct fingerprints, initial briefings, and debriefings. Manage all aspects of Visitor Access Requests.
Physical & Technical Security: Oversee secure areas (if applicable) and manage access control systems. Ensure any classified hardware or product prototypes are stored and handled per federal mandates.
Security Education: Develop and deliver annual security awareness training and "Insider Threat" programs for all employees.
Inspections & Audits: Prepare the company for DCSA security reviews and self-inspections. Maintain "Commendable" or "Superior" ratings through meticulous record-keeping.
Contract Support: Review DD Form 254s (Contract Security Classification Specifications) to ensure the company can meet the security requirements of new RFPs and active contracts.
Qualifications & Skills
Certification: Completion of the CDSE "FSO Fundamentals" curriculum (for possessing or non-possessing facilities).
Experience: 3–5+ years of experience as an FSO or Assistant FSO, preferably within a product-based company.
Systems Knowledge: Expert-level proficiency in DISS, NISS, and NBIS.
The "Soft" Skills: Excellent communication (you have to explain complex federal rules to busy engineers/salespeople) and a high degree of integrity.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract(s). Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.#LI-CC1
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
