**About the Role:**
As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will ensure the continuous and efficient operation of critical central utility plants supporting a large hospital campus and its surrounding medical office buildings. This role is pivotal in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and functional environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The Facility Building Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, often interacting directly with clients, and applying in-depth technical knowledge to provide innovative solutions.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
**What You’ll Do:**
+ Operate, monitor, and maintain central utility plant equipment, including boilers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, generators, and water towers, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
+ Execute routine preventive and corrective maintenance on various building systems, encompassing mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
+ Conduct regular readings and diagnostic checks on equipment to verify functionality and proactively identify potential issues.
+ Perform comprehensive water testing and maintain water treatment systems.
+ Efficiently manage and complete work orders using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely resolution of tasks.
+ Maintain and troubleshoot Building Automation Systems (BAS), specifically Siemens platforms, to optimize building environmental controls and energy usage.
+ Undertake general facility upkeep, including painting, patching, sweeping, and other essential maintenance activities to maintain a professional appearance.
+ Ensure all facility and building systems comply with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency directives, and company safety standards.
+ Implement and manage an energy management program, striving for the most efficient operation of all systems to reduce consumption and costs.
+ Assist in the development and implementation of a robust preventive maintenance program designed to extend the lifespan of building machinery and systems.
+ Respond promptly to emergency repair situations as needed.
+ Adhere to departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, promoting a clean and secure work environment.
+ Review inspection reports of critical building systems, such as fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure operational integrity and compliance with environmental conditions.
+ Apply advanced knowledge of standard principles and techniques to resolve complex assignments and develop innovative solutions for facility challenges.
+ Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
+ Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
+ Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
+ Work within broad guidelines and policies.
+ Explain difficult or sensitive information.
**What You’ll Need:**
+ High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions. Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
+ Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
+ Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
+ Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
+ In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
+ Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
+ Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
