Facilities Technician
**Job Title: Facilities Technician** **Job Description** The Maintenance Technician role is ideal for a mechanically and technically inclined, people-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Technician will manage a variety of tasks, including basic carpentry, troubleshooting facility issues, and coordinating both preventative and reactive maintenance work. This role involves handling small building and grounds projects, emphasizing safety and adherence to company guidelines. The position requires frequent interaction with employees and external personnel, making customer service skills essential. **Responsibilities** + Evaluate and diagnose technical issues. + Perform skilled duties such as general cleaning, painting, resolving basic plumbing issues, and general carpentry on items like doors, floors, docks, overhead doors, roof downspouts, and product racks. + Conduct light maintenance and upkeep on Material Handling Equipment (MHE). + Use hand power tools and building equipment regularly. + Work with building access controls and security. + Coordinate work orders systematically and organized. + Collaborate effectively within a team and be open to coaching and feedback. + Communicate effectively via phone, email, and mail among staff. + Maintain high attention to detail. + Service equipment at regular intervals, replacing or repairing defective parts. + Respond to building and grounds requests promptly. + Examine, test, and isolate defects in equipment, replacing or repairing defective parts as needed, including wiring, switches, outlets, and motors. + Perform groundskeeping tasks, such as trash disposal, keeping walks clear, and possible snow removal. + Work with Facilities Manager/General Manager on maintenance projects. + Maintain records, reports, and files appropriately. + Collaborate with vendors and contractors as needed. **Essential Skills** + High school diploma or GED. + 1-3 years of facility maintenance experience. + Basic computer skills. + Proficiency in basic carpentry. + Mechanical and technical maintenance understanding. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Facility maintenance, hand tool, maintenance repair, facility management, cleaning, installing light bulb fixtures, painting, power tool, electrical knowledge. + Understanding of Plates and Doors is a plus. + Experience with HVAC, drywall, building maintenance, troubleshooting, project management, and carpentry. + Experience with pallet jack and forklift is advantageous. **Why Work Here?** Join a dynamic environment where teamwork, safety, and innovation are highly valued. The role is very active, requiring walking, standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. Employees must frequently lift and/or move items up to 70 pounds. The work environment is a warehouse/distribution center, with a Monday-Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and weekends as needed for projects. Use of scissor lifts and forklifts is preferred, with tasks including emptying dumpsters and general janitorial work. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Park City, Kansas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
