Facilities Technician
**Job Title: Facilities Technician** **Job Description** We are looking to hire an entry-level Facilities Maintenance Technician on a long-term contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate should possess excellent soft skills for client interactions and have a handyman background. Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, patching, and general maintenance is highly desired but not required. You should be proficient with various hand and power tools, which will be provided. **Responsibilities** + Perform inspections and repairs on facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, material handling, and structural components such as walls, flooring, roofing, lighting, and installed fixtures. + Execute equipment inspection and monitoring programs, implementing best maintenance practices to improve mechanical system uptime. + Monitor contractors, inspect work, and generate deficiency lists. + Evaluate and enhance current maintenance, operational, and reliability methods to maximize system performance. + Assist with installation, modification, and repair of building equipment and systems. + Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests as assigned. + Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend improvements for maintenance operations and cost-saving opportunities. + Utilize technology, including smartphones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, and building automation systems (BMS). + Comply with uniform and professional appearance standards while maintaining a clean and professional presence on-site. + Support and train other maintenance team members as needed to develop skills and enhance team capabilities. + Review and coordinate work assignments; plan work to be performed and obtain necessary tools, equipment, and materials. Complete assignments and paperwork in a timely manner. + Project a positive appearance and attitude at all times. Demonstrate exemplary tenant relations, team spirit, and respect for others. **Essential Skills** + 7+ years of experience in industrial electrical, HVAC, or facility maintenance. + High school diploma or GED equivalent. + Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. + Flexibility to work various shifts and alternative schedules as needed. + Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring company sponsorship. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with facility power distribution, UPS, and generators. + Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, VAV’s, and customer relations. + Experience with automated systems, material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electric motors, and VFDs. + Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and building management systems (BMS). + Proven ability to work independently, mentor others, and interface with clients. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a small company environment with room to grow, competitive wages, and benefits upon conversion. Medical and Dental benefits are available, as well as a 401K with a company match. **Work Environment** You will primarily cover downtown offices/buildings and the Boise Outlet Mall, maintaining and cleaning the facilities. The working hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm, with the possibility of overtime. You will be on call every 7th week, covering all properties for the team over the weekend. During the on-call week, you will address facility issues or contact a senior technician/contractor for repairs. Physical demands include extensive walking, standing for prolonged periods, working at elevated heights, frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and lifting up to 49 pounds. You will work in varied environments, including hot/cold temperatures, noise, vibration, dust, and confined spaces. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boise, Idaho. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
