Facilities Specialist
**Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Specialist** **Job Description** The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will report directly to the Facility Supervisor and is responsible for coordinating facility improvements and repairs at the corporate office and associated laboratory. The position also involves maintaining the mail room, and managing shipping and receiving packages. The Position is at least 30 hours a week but cannot guanratee 40 hours each week. Hours each week are based on workload. **Responsibilities** + Work with the Facilities Supervisor to maintain and monitor the building, associated utilities, and grounds. + Maintain the mail room, and manage shipping and receiving packages. + Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs, including lifting and moving materials, painting, plumbing, replacing light fixtures, carpentry, and other related activities using hand tools. + Coordinate major facility improvement repairs with third-party vendors and assist in sourcing necessary supplies. + Conduct routine life safety code inspections, such as checking exit signs, emergency lights, and fire extinguishers. + Maintain the stock room and manage material utilization. + Handle periodic shipment of laboratory hazardous materials and maintain a shipment log. + Utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and practices. + Be available for emergency on-call duties as required or assigned. + Perform other duties as assigned or needed. **Essential Skills** + High school diploma or equivalent. + Previous experience in facilities or maintenance-related fields is preferred. + Ability to operate tools, mechanical equipment, and powered industrial mobile equipment. + Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. + Experience with shipping and receiving and managing stock rooms. + Ability to work from heights and lift 50 pounds or more. + Proficient in using computer programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Pleasant, friendly, and helpful manner. + Ability to research information on the internet using a computer. **Why Work Here?** Join a team that values safety, continuous improvement, and collaboration. Employees are expected to adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of East Windsor, New Jersey. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
